Giving a Clean and Simple Look to Your Address Book in Lion

Apple has redesigned the address book in the OS X Lion to look like a physical hardcover book binding. This choice of design is named “skeuomorphic” as it is mainly aimed at making this new look familiar and comfortable.
Some of the users might like this new look of the Address Book but definitely not all. Already many users have come up with complaints about this change. If you are one among them and if you would like to retain the simple and clean look, you have come to the right place. Here is the trick that will unbind your address book from the brown hardcover.
Make sure you carry out these steps, do backup your Address Book as a precaution to avoid loss of data.
The following steps will help you to backup your Address Book in the native Lion state: On your desktop, create a new folder and then move to the Applications folder in which you can see the Address Book icon. Copy and paste it using Cmd+C and Cmd+V in the new folder that you created. After successfully creating a backup, it is important to quit the Address Book prior to changing its content files.
Steps to unbind Address Book:
Right click on the Address Book icon in the Applications folder and then click on Show Package Contents.
Go to the Contents folder and then select the Resources folder.
Download the zip format of this file to replace the hardcover look of your Address book with a minial design.
Now drag the contents in the unbinding address book folder and drop in the Resources folder. This can be done easily by selecting all using Cmd+A and moving them.
You will have to select between options like Keep Both Files, Stop and Replace. Hit Replace after selecting the checkbox stating Apply to All.
Type the administrator password in order to authenticate the Finder.
Now close all the Finder windows and then open the Address Book. The hardcover look will be replaced by a minimal and clean theme.
You are done! You have successfully unbound your Address Book in OS X Lion.
